Youth Talk provide free, confidential counselling for young people aged 13-25 who live, study or work in St Albans District. Their vision is that every local young person can talk to someone who can help with whatever’s worrying them. Their focus is on early intervention to reduce mental health problems in later life. Whatever a young person is going through, they take the time to understand and respond.

Sadly, demand for their service has risen exponentially in the last few years. Youth Talk have launched an ambitious and exciting 5-year strategy to grow the service by 20% year on year. Together, we’re determined to be there for the growing numbers of young people who need a safe place to talk about their worries.

Since starting Heartwood Homes, supporting our local community has been a core part of our business ethos. We came across Youth Talk by chance last year and were immediately impressed by the valuable service that they offer to our local young people. The passion and ambition of the team at Youth Talk is infectious and from our first meeting we felt compelled to not just donate but also be actively involved in their journey. For every house sold by us here our ongoing commitment is to donate a fixed amount to Youth Talks, they benefit from our success. We are proud to say that to date we have donated over £10,000 to support their vital work.
